It is with extreme pleasure to begin another year as principal of Murray Park Quest Elementary School. I am both excited and honored to be part of a dynamic school community that has so much to offer. Of course, Ripon is well known for our excellence in education, so I am absolutely thrilled to be an integral part of continuing this growing tradition.
I am a firm believer that all students can and will succeed in reaching their greatest potential. Certainly strong partnerships between students, staff, and parents further promote this idea. With this said, it is a privilege to work with the Murray Park Quest Elementary School staff in collaboration with you! As you think about how we can work together, one big way to do this is by promoting consistency in expectations between home and school. In other words, I encourage you to hold daily conversations at home about what your child has learned that day, celebrate your child’s “Growth Mindset” (celebrate progress, persistence, and risk-taking rather than natural ability), praise their use of empathy toward others, and please promote daily reading and math practice at home. Each of these practices makes an incredibly positive impact on your child’s overall wellbeing and learning. There are also many opportunities for you to be part of our learning community at school as you volunteer for the long or short run. In fact, research proves that the more parents and schools work together in supporting children, the more success our children will accomplish. Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering or how you would like to get involved within our school.
I want to assure you that our Murray Park Quest team has the same goal as our families...supporting our children in reaching their greatest potential while celebrating them and their learning! Please know you are an important part of our MPQ family and we welcome you at any time. If you are in the building, please stop in. We are here for you and your children to ensure that your child experiences the greatest learning opportunity possible.
Sincerely,
Renee Bunge, Principal
