Are you asynchronous or synchronous?
Both. We provide live classes at the 4K-12 level. Attendance is optional at the elementary level. Students can choose either live classes or individual courses that students work through on their own time, following a pacing guide.
What is your attendance policy?
A weekly check-in (which can take on various formats) is required for elementary students.
For middle and high school students, it depends on what course options they choose. Some will require their attendance in live classes and others will require them to stay ‘On pace’ with their assignments. Attendance at a virtual school consists of communication, participation and work completion.
Are students required to be on-camera during the day? How much screen time is required for students per day?
Students and families will determine how much or how little a student is on-camera or screen time. It is an individual choice, depending on the curriculum path that is chosen.
Are your students ever required to be physically present for events? How often and for what?
Only for one day for state testing. Families will choose the most convenient location for them.
Are due dates flexible for student illness or family travel?
Yes. We request communication ahead of time for travel or other planned events. Students can work with their teachers to determine what work they can work on ahead of time. Communication is required from parents/guardians for any illness, but due dates are flexible in case of illness.
What does flexibility look like for high school students? Can they work?
